Adam Kim

Adam Kim, 14, is a student at Lick-Wilmerding High School in San Francisco and has been studying cello for seven years with Jonathan Koh. In 2025, Adam won first place in the United States International Music Competition and honorable mention in the Music Teachers National Association state junior strings competition. He also won first place in the American Protege International Concerto Competition, and was a prizewinner in the Diablo Valley College/Holy Names University Young Artist String Competition, Silicon Valley Music Competition, Bellagrande International Music Competition, and Geneva Junior Music Competition. Adam played with the 2025 California Orchestra Directors Association Junior High All-State Orchestra, played in the Cal Music Prep chamber music program, and attended summer chamber music intensives at the Colburn School and Music at Tateuchi. Adam's chamber group, the Kairos Trio, is part of the nationally recognized Young Chamber Musicians program based in Northern California.
