Aglaia Duo

The Aglaia Duo was founded in 2021, with a particular focus on chamber music programmes in Italian, French, German, and Russian. In 2022, the duo performed at Villa Campolieto in Ercolano (Naples), the Centro Caprense “Ignazio Cerio” in Capri (Naples), Palazzo Venezia in Naples, and the Teatro Qendra Kulturore in Tirana (Albania). In February 2023, the duo performed for Amici della Musica di Padova at the Sala dei Giganti of Palazzo Liviano (Padua), presenting a programme dedicated to French music of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries (Debussy, Fauré, and Poulenc) and to Italian composers of the Generazione dell’Ottanta (Respighi, Malipiero, and Pizzetti). In February 2024, the duo presented a programme dedicated to Gian Francesco Malipiero, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the composer’s death, at the headquarters of the Società Letteraria di Verona. In March 2025, the duo performed a programme devoted to folk-inspired art songs as part of the Spring Concerts organized by the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Naples, featuring works by Britten, de Falla, Berio, and Tosti. In the same year, the duo also presented a programme dedicated to Italian, German, and English chamber songs of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, with works by Brahms, Castelnuovo-Tedesco, and Francesco Vatielli. The duo attended the Course in German Lied taught by Maestro Erik Battaglia at the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole during the 2022/2023 academic year. In October 2022, the duo was awarded Second Prize at the 7th Elsa Respighi International Competition for Vocal Chamber Music in Verona. In March 2024, the duo was awarded First Prize at the 2nd International Competition for Composition and Performance, section Chamber Songs on Texts by Poets and Writers of the Romagna House Museums, held in San Mauro Pascoli (Forlì-Cesena).
