Andrew Horne

Andrew Horne (age 17) is a violinist from Bellevue, Washington. Inspired by his uncle, renowned luthier Michael Doran, he began studying Suzuki violin with Sharon Wherland at age five. He has also studied with Professor Mimi Zweig and Professor Grant Donnellan. He currently studies with Seattle Symphony violinist, Blayne Barnes.

Andrew has performed in masterclasses with renowned musicians including James Ehnes, Che-Yen Chen, Njioma Grevious and Yura Lee. A passionate chamber musician, he is a member of the Seattle Chamber Music Society Academy and has worked with artists such as Efe Baltacigil, Noah Geller, Elisa Barston, Nathan Chan and Simon James. He has served as concert master for this high school orchestra since his freshman year. He led his high school chamber group to 3rd Place at State and 1st Place at the Performing Arts Festival of the Eastside in 2025.

Outside of music, he enjoys skiing, cooking, fast cars and bicycle racing. He plays on a Doran violin.
