Angel Li

USA

Since she was eight years old, Angel Li, now sixteen, has studied piano composition under Claudia Y. Xi. Her passion for music was ignited when her cousins taught her how to play 'Twinkle Twinkle Little Star' on the piano with her feet as a baby. She has earned awards in the Southwestern Youth Music Festival (first place in 2016 and 2017), the MTAC Orange County Theme Festival (first place in 2018), the MTAC State Competition Solo Division 13-15 (first place in 2023), and the Pelican International Music Competition (first prize 2023). Winning the Pelican International Music Competition, she was invited to play at Nixon Library shortly after the competition.

As well as playing the piano, her hobbies include reading, writing, and making new memories with her friends. She also enjoys reading a book on a rainy day, especially the petrichor that comes with it. Angel is extremely appreciative of her training with her music teacher, as well as her friends' and family's unwavering support, and knows that music has played a key role in her intellectual development.
