Anika Hess

Anika Hess was born in Berlin in 2007. She started playing the violin at the age of six. Until 2021 she was taught by Elena Martinez-Eisenberg. Since then Anika has been studying in Prof. Susanne Stoodt`s violin class as a Junior Student and a member of the Young Academy at Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst (HfMDK) in Frankfurt am Main. Anika is a first award winner of the competition „Jugend Musiziert“ on state level in the category Violin Solo (2018) and a third federal award winner in the category Duo Piano-Strings (2021). In 2021, Anika also received a Laureat as a first-award-winner at the Mendelssohn-Competition and a second award at the international MusikTalente Competition. Anika has participated in multiple master classes for violin solo and chamber music, among others with Prof. Maria Egelhof (Lübeck) and Prof. Johannes Kittel (Berlin) as well as two internationally renowned string quartets, the Verdi-Quartett and the Aris-Quartett. Since 2020, Anika has been an active member of the Hessian State Youth Orchestra. In 2022, she passed the audition for the National Youth Orchestra of Germany (BJO) and will join the BJO for its January working phase and subsequent international concert tour. Anika is not only an ambitious violinist, but also plays the piano successfully and has likewise won several awards as a solo player and accompanist. Through her varied musical activities, Anika has already earned several scholarships of the Cultural Foundation Sparkasse Darmstadt and Sparkasse Hessen-Thüringen.
