Anton Torbeev

Anton Torbeev Laureate of International Competitions Graduated from the Faculty of Opera and Symphony Conducting at the St. Petersburg State Conservatory named after N. A. Rimsky-Korsakov (class of People's Artist of Russia, Professor E. Serov) and completed the postgraduate program at the Moscow State Conservatory named after P. I. Tchaikovsky (class of Honored Artist of Russia, Professor I. Dronov). He has participated in masterclasses with outstanding contemporary conductors such as Bernard Haitink, Fabio Luisi, and Lorin Maazel. In 2012–2013, he trained at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz (Austria) in the class of Professor Wolfgang Doerner. From 2018 to 2022, he was part of the conducting traineeship group of the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Russia under the direction of V. Spivakov. He has significant and unique experience in all areas of conducting – opera, ballet, and symphony. His repertoire includes more than 40 opera and ballet titles, as well as a large amount of symphonic music. He collaborates with the Mariinsky Theatre Orchestra under Valery Gergiev (St. Petersburg), the Mikhailovsky Theatre (St. Petersburg), the Novosibirsk Opera and Ballet Theatre, the Moscow State Academic Symphony Orchestra, Russian National Orchestra and other orchestras in Russia, as well as the Karaganda and Astana Symphony Orchestras (Kazakhstan), the Romanian Radio National Orchestra, the International Youth Symphony Orchestra in Sapporo (Japan), the Sichuan Symphony Orchestra (China), the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra (South Korea), and the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra. He is a recipient of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation's «Young Talents» scholarship, and grants from the Gartow Foundation (Germany) and the Georg Solti Foundation (Belgium). He has been awarded the St. Petersburg Government Prize, and a certificate of appreciation from the Public Chamber of the Primorsky Territory for his contributions to society, productive socially significant activities, and his substantial contribution to the cultural life of the region.
