Anvay Mathur
Anvay Mathur (b. 2008) is a Singapore-based composer, pianist, and violinist whose musical journey began at the age of four. A classically trained pianist, Anvay is currently pursuing an Associate of the Royal Schools of Music Diploma in Music Performance. His passion for composition drives him to create original scores, with notable performances including a quartet piece by Masters students at Jacobs School of Music and two pieces by the Middle School String Orchestra. He is currently studying composition under Dr. John Sharpley. As the concertmaster and a violinist for the High School Concert Strings, Anvay exemplifies both leadership and music excellence. Anvay's achievements include being selected for the Jacobs Composition Academy Summer Intensive at Indiana University, where he received private lessons from Dr. Yi-De Chen and he was one of the three composition finalists at the Music International Grand Prix competition (2024). In addition to his musical pursuits, Anvay is an active member of the Vivace Music Service Club, performing concerts for the elderly in assisted living communities, and he is part of the Tri-M Music Honors Society. Outside of music, he enjoys tinkering and programming, contributing to the vibrant Singapore Maker community.
