COMPOSITION
Oboe Concerto in C Minor For Strings And Continuo This piece is composed in the High Baroque style and is written for solo oboe, four string parts, and basso continuo. The work draws inspiration from Baroque formal clarity, rhythmic vitality, and expressive contrast, while maintaining the tonal foundation characteristics of the period. The concerto emphasizes the oboe’s lyrical and expressive qualities, allowing the solo instrument to engage in dynamic dialogue with the string ensemble. The string writing supports and enhances the solo line through contrapuntal textures and harmonic movement, while the continuo provides structural stability and drives the harmonic progression. Special attention is given to Baroque articulation, motivic development, and affect, particularly through the use of C minor to convey intensity and dramatic depth. The composition reflects both historical awareness and a personal interpretation of High Baroque compositional practices.
