At the age of six, Caleb Chang began his studies in violin. In three years, he completed his ABRSM Grade 8 violin exam with distinction at the age of nine, achieved ATCL at the age of eleven, and LTCL with distinction at the age of thirteen. He was the Platinum Medalist in the 2021 Quebec International Music Competition and won First Prizes in both the 2021 Bonn Grand Prize Virtuoso and Salzburg Grand Prize Virtuoso International Music Competitions. He received invitations to debut at Beethoven-Haus in Bonn and Solitär Mozarteum in Salzburg. He was also named Annual Star Award Violinist of the Year in the London Young Musician of the Year 2022 Competition.

In school, Caleb was principal violinist of his primary school orchestra and is now assistant principal violinist in his secondary school orchestra. He is also principal violinist of the school’s string chamber and first violinist in the senior string quartet. He received the Excellence in Music Award for the 2023 academic year and has held a music scholarship for three consecutive years.
