Clayton Ziheng Kwan

Praised by maestro Ye Xiaogang for his “vivid musical imagination and inner hearing,” 15-year-old Hong Kong-based composer Clayton Kwan began his creative journey at age seven. Under the mentorship of Steinway Artist Warren Lee, alongside studies at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, Clayton has amassed an extensive portfolio of over 100 works.

His award-winning pieces, namely the chamber work The Whimsical Forest, and Chinese instrumental piece The Emperor’s Wish, earned top honours in the U.S., U.K., Poland and Hong Kong, leading to showcases of his other compositions on the London Mozart Players’ stage and at the Academy’s 40th Anniversary Concert.

Beyond composition, Clayton is a highly versatile performer in piano, percussion and choral singing, recently capturing a Gold Award at the 2026 Joint School Music Competition for Percussion Ensemble and being named St. Paul's Co-educational College’s Most Outstanding Talent Student in Music.
