Connor Ly

Twelve-year-old Connor Ly, a student of the Julia Kruger Studio in Austin, Texas, began studying piano at the age of six. By age ten, he started competing in both national and international piano competitions. Since then, Connor has participated in and received awards from fourteen domestic and international events. He was the First Prize Winner of the National DeBose Piano Competition, and earned Piano Junior Gold, Bach Gold, and Prokofiev Gold Prizes in the AD LIBITUM International Piano Competition. He also won First Place in the Elementary Division of the Resonant International Piano Festival in Italy. Connor received Bronze and Silver Prizes at the 2023 and 2024 WPTA Finland Competitions, and a Silver Prize in the Junior Category of the Colors of Chopin International Competition. Additionally, he won Silver Prizes in both the 2023 and 2024 WPTA Singapore Competitions. In 2024, Connor received First Place in the American Protégé International Romantic Music Competition (ages 11–14) and has been invited to perform at Carnegie Hall in March 2025. In the summer of 2025, he auditioned for and was selected to participate in the Juilliard School Summer Piano Program. Most recently, he earned the Gold Award in the Global Young Musicians Competition.

Connor’s favorite composers are Beethoven and Chopin.
