Dufour Tom

France

Tom Dufour was born on the 14th of December 2000. His parents weren’t musicians, but he fell in love with viola and began playing at the age of 5 in Marie-France Gillet's class at the Tourcoing Conservatory. Passionate about everything music has to offer, he holds degrees in musicology, analysis, composition, and solfeggio. A student of Juliette Danel, he just finished his Bachelor at the ESMD in Lille in viola. At the same time, he takes lyrical singing lessons, teaches viola at the Hazebrouck Music School and the Conservatory of Saint-Omer, performs regularly with the Edelweiss Quartet in the north of France, the MDE orchestra in the east and Switzerland, the Sostenuto orchestra in the south, the Opal Sinfonietta in the west, the barocco ensemble Hemiolia in the Netherlands, Solo Viola in the AYSO Orchestra in Italy… He hopes to become a full time viola teacher while having the time to be in a professional chamber music group and punctually participate in great orchestra projects. This competition is the opportunity for him to know all the things he can improve, get some great feedback, get in contact with impressive musicians and perhaps win something !
