Ensio Backholm

Ensio Backholm (b. 2016) is a young pianist from Turku, Finland, studying piano with Teacher Pasi Helin at the Turku Conservatory. In 2025, he was awarded the Absolute First Prize and the Outstanding Musicality Special Award in the 8–10 age group at the Bach International Music Competition, and received the Gold Medal in the 8–9 age group at the Northern Lights Piano Festival & Competition. In addition to piano, Ensio began cello studies in 2026 and has been actively playing ice hockey since the age of five.
