Francisco Estévez Díaz

Francisco Estévez Díaz Born in 1945 in Villacisneros, now Dakhla (Spanish West Africa) He studied piano, clarinet, flute, orchestral conducting, and electronic music at the Royal Conservatory of Madrid, the Robert Schumann Conservatory in Düsseldorf (Germany), the Essen-Werden Conservatory (Germany), and the Electronic Music Center at Utrecht University (Netherlands). He holds degrees in composition, conducting, and electronic music. He has taught harmony, counterpoint, and acoustics at the Amaniel Conservatory in Madrid and directed the electronic music laboratory at the Cuenca Conservatory, as well as teaching music at other institutions. He is the founder and director of the Municipal Band of Cebreros (Ávila), the Chamber Orchestra “Música” of Düsseldorf (Germany), the Choir “Alma 29” of Madrid, and the Chamber Orchestra “Jóvenes Virtuosos de la Comunidad de Madrid.” He has written more than 250 works for different orchestral groups. He has received numerous national and international composition awards, such as: “Manuel de Falla” (Spain), “Frances Civil,” ‘Gaudeamus’ (Netherlands), “Bürgerpreis” (Germany), etc. As a composer, he has represented Spain at the UNESCO Festival and at the ISCM festivals in Germany and Israel. His works are published by “Just a Theory Press” in Michigan (USA)
