Francisco Javier González Compeán

Dr. Francisco Javier González Compeán (AKA Javier Compeán) is a Mexican composer, independent artist, and professor-researcher at the University of Guanajuato. He serves as Artistic Director of the Festival Internacional Callejón del Ruido. He was awarded the Platinum Prize in the 2024 Carl Reinecke International Competition (Original Composition category, United Kingdom), as well as the Platinum Prize and the Best Innovative Creativity Special Award at the Best Classical Musicians Awards. He received Third Prize at the Percussion Arts Society Italy International Composition Competition (solo percussion category) and an Honorable Mention at the Melesio Morales National Competition (Professional, Symphonic Music category). His works have been performed across Europe, Australia, and Latin America in cities including Paris, Moscow, Munich, Madrid, and Mexico City, by distinguished artists such as Brodsky Quartet and Irvine Arditti, among others. His music reflects a contemporary aesthetic marked by structural rigor, timbral exploration, and intercultural dialogue.
