
Gaspard Thomas
Born in 1997, Gaspard THOMAS has won many awards at international piano competitions, such as a joint First Prize in the Chopin category at the 2017 Brest Competition, a First Prize at 2019 France-Amériques Competition in Paris and a Second Prize with 7 special prizes at 2019 Piano Campus Competition in Paris. He was also selected for 2019 Long-Thibaud Competition. More recently in december 2020, he received the highest reward at the Paris Léopold Bellan Competition and was selected to the quarter-finals of the Jaén Competition in april 2021. Gaspard THOMAS played as soloist with orchestra or string quintet (Beethoven’s 3d concerto, Chopin’s both concertos, Chostakovitch and Saint-Saëns 1st concertos). He is regularly invited to perform in recital at several festivals such as the Chopin Festival or the « Pianissimes » in Paris. He played on several stages around Paris like the Steinway Showroom, the Polish Embassy or the Théâtre of Fontainebleau. Each summer since 2017 he has been performing in the Saint-Céré Festival in recital as well as a soloist or in chamber music. During summer 2020, he played with violin at the Gstaad Palace for the Sommets Musicaux (art. dir. : Renaud CAPUCON). Gaspard THOMAS is currently studying piano at the Conservatoire Supérieur de Musique de Paris with Claire DESERT, as well as Accompaniment, Harmony, Counterpoint. He also studied with such artists as Bruno RIGUTTO, Bernard D’ASCOLI, Jean-Efflam BAVOUZET, Itamar GOLAN, Jean-François HEISSER.
