Guillaume Beaulieu

Guillaume Beaulieu started to play the recorder at the age of ten, in the Massy’s music school. He then obtained his recorder diploma in 2010 at the CRD de la vallée de Cheuvreuse, under the supervision of Jean- Pierre Nicolas, and also obtained the chamber music prize. He then involved himself in 2011 in the Lyon's CNSMD formation to follow Pierre Hamon's recorder teaching and obtained is master of recorder and ancient music there in 2015, with distinctions. His taste for ancient music made him learn other instruments over the years; he mastered his formation by studying harpsichord at the Orsay's CRD. This multi-instrumental formation gave him the ability to play those instruments in a various amount of music groups (Centre de Musique Baroque de versailles, ensemble Fitwilliam, ensemble Pygmalion, les Nouveaux Caratcères ...), and also to often make live performances in french well known festivals, in the world as well (Italy, Polish, Brazil, Japan, Netherlands...), and often performs on air at the national public French Radio. He was also selected to be part of the 2010 and 2012 sessions of l'Orchestre Français des Jeunes Baroques (OFJ), in which he worked under the direction of Paul Agnew at the Opéra Comique in Paris, and also at the Grand Théatre of Aix en Provence. Guillaume is also a member on the Consort Brouillamini formation, in which he often plays all around France. They recorded two CDs: the first in 2017 (dedicated to J.S Bach) and the second in 2019 (dedicated to the English Renaissance music) and a contemporary piece for Radio France in 2018 (Image 20-21 by Sirah Martinez). Guillaume won several international prizes by himself and with the Consort Brouillamini: - 1st prize at the international soloist competition of Tel-Aviv, in 2020; - 3rd prize at the Golden Classical Music Awards, in 2019; - 3rd prize at the Nordorn competiton, in 2019; - 2nd prize at the Moeck’s international soloist competition, in 2017; - 1st prize at the international competition of Vanves, in 2016 with the Consort Brouillamini; - public prize during the musical season Musée en Musique in Grenoble in 2015 with the Consort Brouillamini. Finally, Guillaume now teach the recorder at the conservatory of Chevilly-Larue, and at the conservatory of Chevreuse.
