Herman Rijks

Herman Rijks, known artistically as Hermane, is a Dutch composer and pianist based in Andalusia. Before settling in Spain, he spent more than twenty years living in Latin America, the United States, Eastern Europe and several African countries, absorbing their traditional music. His commissioned work has ranged from tango and Latin music to opera.

Drawing inspiration from Bach, Chopin and Satie alongside Pink Floyd and Metheny, his piano compositions bring together classical, pop, soul, gospel, flamenco and Latin influences. He seeks to combine virtuosity with fragile beauty and currently gives piano concerts in Spain, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands.
