Indira Iglikova

I have loved singing and listening to Kazakh folk songs and classical music since childhood. My mother sang lullabies, and my grandfather played the dombra and sang folk songs. At age 4, I joined a vocal studio, and at 5, I began playing piano. I’ve always admired the sound of the oboe, and “Swan Lake” is my favorite piece—I dream of performing it in Paris, Vienna, and beyond. To pursue this, I started learning oboe in 2023 under the guidance of Honored Artist of Kazakhstan, Damila Makhpirova, who teaches not only technique but the joy of music. I was fortunate to attend a master class by Professor Nuraly Konirov, whose words “On this instrument, you can play almost anything, even the melody of your native steppe, if you put your soul into it. Music is what you are.” became my motto in the world of oboe.
