Ivan Makar

I'm a third-year student of the Integrated Undergraduate and Graduate University Studies of Composition at the Academy of Music in Zagreb and a Master of Music with the completed Integrated Undergraduate and Graduate University Studies of Music Theory at the aforementioned institution. As a composition student of professor Srećko Bradić, I participated in the Voices of Europe project launched by professor Paolo Marzocchi as part of the collaboration between the Academy of Music in Zagreb and the Giuseppe Verdi State Conservatory from Ravenna. At the opening of the 61st Goran's Spring Festival of Poetry in the Zagreb Puppet Theater, Two Songs for mezzo-soprano and violin, that I composed to the lyrics of Ivan Goran Kovačić as a part of commission, were performed. On the occasion of two recording projects, which were mainly organised for students of composition department, the Croatian Radio and Television Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of chief conductor Pascal Rophé, performed my work „Waves“ for harp and string orchestra, and the Croatian Radio and Television Choir, under the direction of chief conductor Tomislav Fačini, performed „Kyrie“ for mixed choir. At the beginning of this year, I collaborated with the Zagreb Soloists who premiered my new piece "Reflections" for strings at the "Concerts As A Gift" event.
