Jacques Alexandre Gregoire

Jacques Gregoire is a senior at Edina High School in Edina, Minnesota, and has enjoyed playing the cello since the fourth grade. He has participated in the Greater Twin Cities Youth Symphonies for seven years. As a dual enrollment student at the University of Minnesota, Jacques studies under Professor Matt Haimovitz and plays in the University Symphony Orchestra. After high school, Jacques plans on majoring in cello performance, with the goal of becoming a professional orchestral cellist. Jacques especially enjoys playing works from the Romantic Era, and he believes that the Dvorak Cello Concerto in B minor is the best piece of music ever written. When not playing cello, Jacques enjoys time with friends and family, gaming, chess and golf.
