Jona Schibilsky has been studying with Nora Chastain at the Berlin University of the Arts since 2018. As a young student, she received lessons from Michael Erxleben. In 2021 she was a student at the Royal College of Music in London as part of the Erasmus program. She also received artistic impulses in collaboration with, among others, Ilya Gringolts, Jens-Peter Maintz and members of the Artemis Quartet. Jona is a multiple prize winner of national competitions and now performs regularly throughout Europe as a soloist, chamber musician and concertmaster. Until 2018, Jona was concertmaster of the Deutsche Streicherphilharmonie. Today she concertmasters with the Eroica Berlin Chamber Orchestra, among others, and is a member of the Karajan Academy of the Berlin Philharmonic. In addition to her violin activities, she occasionally performs chamber music as a violist and pianist. In the wake of the Corona pandemic, she took up parallel studies in literary studies and art history at Freie Universität Berlin, transferring to Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin in 2023. She holds scholarships from the Studienstiftung des Deutschen Volkes, the Yehudi Menuhin Live Music Now Berlin association, and was accepted into the concert promotion program of the German Music Competition in 2022. Since 2023, Jona has been playing a violin by Jean Baptiste Vuillaume dating from 1830, which was generously generously made available to her by a private donor.
