Kann & Korn

Pharphum “Kann” Phophong, aged 13, is a Year 8 student at Shrewsbury International School Bangkok Riverside. He began studying the piano at the age of five at Yamaha Music School. Recognising his exceptional musical potential, he became a student of the renowned piano teacher Ms Irina Novikova at the age of seven. Kann has achieved outstanding success in numerous national and international piano competitions, winning more than 60 awards, including many Grand Prize, Platinum Prize, and First Prize distinctions. He has had the honour of performing at several prestigious international venues, including Carnegie Hall in New York, the Royal Academy of Music and the Purcell School in London, and the Holywell Music Room at the University of Oxford. Within the school community, Kann was selected to perform as a keyboardist in the pit orchestra for Shrek the Musical. He also serves as a piano accompanist for the Junior Choir and is a member of the Shrewsbury School Orchestra. In addition to piano, Kann also plays the flute. Through his musical journey, Kann continues to develop his artistry and enjoys sharing the joy of music with audiences both in Thailand and internationally. Pharkorn “Korn” Phophong, aged 12, is a Year 7 student at Shrewsbury International School Bangkok Riverside. He began learning the piano at the age of five at Yamaha Music School. Recognising his strong musical potential, he later became a student of the distinguished piano teacher Ms Irina Novikova at the age of seven. Korn has achieved notable success in numerous national and international piano competitions, earning more than 50 awards, including many Grand Prize, Platinum Prize, and First Prize distinctions. He has also demonstrated outstanding achievement in music examinations, passing the ABRSM Piano examinations for Grades 1, 4, and 7 with Distinction. In 2021, he was awarded the Highest Score of the Year in Thailand for the ABRSM Grade 4 Piano Examination. Korn has performed at prestigious international venues including Carnegie Hall in New York, the Royal Academy of Music and the Purcell School in London, and the Holywell Music Room at the University of Oxford. At school, Korn was selected to perform in the pit orchestra for Shrek the Musical, playing flute and piccolo, and he is also a member of the Shrewsbury School Orchestra. Korn continues to pursue his passion for music with great enthusiasm and looks forward to further musical experiences and performances in the future.
