Kateřina Čechová

Kateřina Čechová (2000) is a young Czech flutist from Bystřice nad Pernštejnem. In 2016, she started attending the Brno Conservatory, where she studied under the guidance of Professor Božena Růžičková. During her studies, she took part in several national competitions, for example the Teplice conservatory and music gymnasium competition show, where she placed second, and then the Pardubické dechy competition, where she won 1st place in 2017 and 2019 and was its absolute winner in 2021. From the year 2020 she was a flute teacher in ZUŠ Varhanická in Brno till the year 2021. In the same year, she also won an audition for the Moravian Philharmonic Orchestra in Olomouc, of which she is still a member. In 2022, she entered JAMU in Brno where she studies under the guidance of Professor Václav Kunt. Different masterclasses gave her the opportunity to learn from important flutists such as Philippe Bernold, Clara Nováková, Davide Formisano, Adam Walker, Ian Clark and others. During her studies, she collaborated, for example, with the Brno Philharmonic, Theatre Opava, Prague Royal Philharmonic, Ensemble Opera Diversa and played recitals and concerts under the auspices of the Moravian Composers' Club, the Association of Music Artists and Scientists, Czech Flute Association or the Bohuslav Martinů Foundation.
