Kevin Liu
Kevin Liu is a highly motivated 11-year-old with a deep passion for music. As an accomplished young pianist, he has won numerous state-level and international competitions, demonstrating his dedication and artistry. His love for the piano stems from the profound influence of his teacher, Carol Chuang, whose exceptional musicianship has shaped Kevin’s musical journey. He has performed twice at Carnegie Hall in New York as the First Prize winner of the Crescendo International Music Competition, where he also won cash prizes after his performances on the Carnegie Hall stage. He has just won International Schubert Vienna Piano Competition. He has also won the First Place in the CAPMT Piano Solo Honors Competition, CAPMT Piano Solo Contemporary Competition, the Classical Master Musical Festival, the Folsom Lake Symphony Young Artist Competition, and more.
Beyond music, Kevin is incredibly passionate about medicine! He’s super interested in studying tiny germs (microbiology), learning about heart problems, and finding out how doctors do surgeries. He can’t wait to keep learning more and more, dreaming of one day helping people feel better! He loves math, helping him excel in problem-solving and logical reasoning. Kevin is also a well-rounded individual with a variety of interests. He enjoys playing chess, a game that sharpens his strategic thinking, and is an active athlete who participates in basketball, tennis, and fencing. His love for exploring different cultures extends to language and food, as he enjoys tasting and experiencing cuisines from different countries. With his strong determination and diverse passions, Kevin continues to strive for excellence in all areas of his life, aiming to one day make an impact in the field of medicine while keeping his love for music and combine both fields to make positive difference on people’s lives.
