Marek Juran

Marek Juran (b. 1994) is a Slovak violinist who began his studies at age six under Jana Spálová. He continued at the Conservatory in Bratislava with Prof. František Törok and later at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna with Prof. Stefan Kamilarov. He is currently completing his master’s degree at the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava in the class of Prof. Jozef Horváth. As a laureate of several competitions (Nova Paka, Nedyalka Simeonova, CIMA), Marek has performed as a soloist with leading orchestras including the Slovak Philharmonic, Capella Istropolitana, State Chamber Orchestra Žilina, and Wiener Solisten-Kammerorchester and others. At age ten, he made his international solo debut, and later led the Slovak Youth Orchestra as concertmaster at the Young Euro Classic Festival in Berlin. He has performed with international ensembles such as Junge Philharmonie Wien, Wiener Jeunesse Orchester, Webern Symphony Orchestra, and the Slovak Radio Symphony Orchestra, where he was a member from 2020 to 2024. Since 2024, he has been playing with the Slovak Philharmonic in the first violin section. Marek has been invited to audition for some of the world’s top orchestras, including the Berlin Philharmonic, New York Philharmonic, Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, and the Vienna Philharmonic.
