Mariana Filipa Tavares Pinto

Mariana Filipa Tavares Pinto was born in 2009 in Santa Maria da Feira and is from Albergaria-a-Velha. She began her musical studies at the age of 9 with Professor Eliana Ribeiro at the Banda de Ribeira de Fráguas and, one year later, enrolled in the Jobra Conservatory of Music in the class of Professor Andreia Soares. She is currently attending the 6th Grade of the ISP program at ART'J (Jobra Educação). She is a founding member of the Alma Quintet. In 2024, she was selected to participate in the Erasmus+ program in Vienna, Austria. She has been invited to perform in various bands, including the Sociedade Artística Banda de Vale de Cambra and the Banda de Ribeira de Fráguas. She has attended masterclasses with Professors Gil Magalhães, Herlander Sousa, Nuno Inácio, Francisco Barbosa, Mariana Neves, Guilles Burgos, Liliana Moreira, Carla Rodrigues, Marina Camponês, Ana Maria Ribeiro, Elis Falcon, Ana Ferraz, Éric Bescond, and Stella Daoues. She has participated in several competitions, receiving the 1st Prize in Category C–Woodwinds at the 11th Alto Minho International Wind Competition; 3rd Prize at the III International Young Talents for Winds and Percussion Competition; Honorable Mention at the Young Talents Award; Honorable Mention at the II International Young Talents for Winds and Percussion Competition; and Honorable Mention at the VII Gilberta Paiva National Competition. She also received an Honorable Mention at the VII Gilberta Paiva National Competition in the chamber music category with the Alma Quintet. She has performed on national stages such as Europarque, Cineteatro Alba, Casa da Música, among others, under the baton of various conductors, including André Granjo, Hernâni Petiz, Francisco Ribeiro, Cláudio Ferreira, Valdemar Sequeira, Nelson Jesus, Gil Magalhães, and Teo Aparicio-Barberán. Upon completing the 5th Grade on October 3, 2024, she was awarded the Excellence Prize, being annually recognized as a student of merit.
