Born in 2004, Maya discovered the cello at the age of seven and joined the CRR de Paris in 2015, studying with Hélène Dautry, where she graduated with highest honors (DEM) in 2019. Passionate about chamber music, she performed in a trio in Séverine Chavrier’s play Nous sommes repus mais pas repentis, on the stages of the Théâtre de l’Odéon, Gennevilliers, and the Scène Nationale d’Arras.

In 2022, she was admitted to the Paris Conservatoire (CNSMDP), where she studied with Jérôme Pernoo and later with Edgar Moreau, refining her chamber music skills under the guidance of Jean Sulem, Claire Désert, and Louis Rodde. She co-founded the Duo Esmeralda with pianist Alma Bettencourt and joined the Quatuor Ivana in 2023, performing throughout France.

She has been invited to festivals such as Jeunes Talents in Honfleur and Loudun, and to the Black Concert of the Centre de Musique de Chambre at Salle Cortot. She also performed at Nuit Blanche Paris, and explored improvisation alongside Jean-François Zygel. As a soloist, she played Dvořák’s Cello Concerto at the Brescia Talent Summer Festival, and was invited to perform at Salle Gaveau and the Grand Amphithéâtre de la Sorbonne. She also plays symphonic repertoire with the Orchestre de Chambre de Paris.

Deeply engaged in contemporary music, she recorded Balthazar Pouilloux’s "Sonatas" in 2024 and is currently preparing a second album dedicated to Arthur Lavandier’s "Mélodies", to be released in 2025 on the Initiale label.
