Maÿlis Arrat

Maÿlis ARRAT grew up in a village near Toulouse, in a family of music lovers. She developed a passion for the accordion very early on, fascinated by the sound and the infinite possibilities of this instrument. At the age of 15, she entered the conservatory of Toulouse, in the class of Grégory DALTIN. She completed her studies there and in 2022 obtained the Gennevilliers Conservatory Prize with honors and congratulations from the jury. In 2018, she won the first gold medal prize at the national competition organized in Paris by the National Union of French Accordionists (UNAF). In 2022, she won the 47th Premio Internazionale Fisarmonica de Castelfidardo (PIF), one of the most prestigious international classical accordion competitions, in the Master category. Maÿlis worked at the age of 19 with the Théâtre du Capitole de Toulouse, on the occasion of the world premiere of the children's opera Orphée. She now leads a career as a soloist in classical and baroque music, with participation in festivals such as "Passe ton Bach d'abord" in Toulouse or "Ma Vigne en Musique" in Narbonne. In 2020, she created the duo Acrilys with Claire BOUYSSOU, soprano singer. Since then, the duo has been performing on stage all year round, with a predilection for their region of origin, Occitanie in France. Maÿlis has benefited since her first beginnings from the artistic companionship of the greatest contemporary composer for the classical accordion, Franck ANGELIS. This one very early noticed the expressive singularity of the young artist; he actively continues as a teacher to help her develop her energy and colors.
