Kyoichiro Mii is a Japanese composer who perceives sound as a physical and human phenomenon, focusing deeply on "voice," "breath," and "structural clarity." He studied spatial analysis at the University of Tokyo Graduate School and composition at Tokyo College of Music Graduate School. His output includes chamber music, wind ensemble pieces, and large-scale orchestral projects. He has received numerous awards, including the highest prize at the All Japan Composers Competition, and is a member of the Japan Federation of Composers Inc. (JFC).

[Description]
This work is a tribute to my late teacher, Teruyuki Noda, who passed away in 2022. It was selected as the Japanese representative for the ISCM World New Music Days 2026 (Romania) and awarded the Encouragement Prize at the All Japan Composers Competition.
The piece consists of an Adagio and a Double Fugue. The Adagio pays homage to Professor Noda’s harmonic language, while the Fugue subject is derived from his music. Reflecting his philosophy that "there is nothing more boring than a fugue without joy," I explored the essence of musical beauty through this rigorous yet spirited structure. My ultimate goal is "from heart to heart"—that this music may resonate with listeners and reach my teacher in heaven.
