Miruna-Ioana Covreag
I am a young Romanian pianist, deeply passionate about music and dedicated to developing my artistic voice through performance and continuous study. I am currently a student at the “Sigismund Toduță” Music College in Cluj-Napoca, where I study piano under the guidance of Professor Bianca Moraru. I have had the opportunity to perform in various recitals and important venues, including the Romanian National Opera in Cluj-Napoca: the Bösendorfer Spotlight series, the Laidlaw Music Centre at the University of St Andrews, and philharmonic halls across Romania. My experience includes both solo and chamber music performances, as well as participation in gala concerts and cultural events. I have been awarded numerous prizes in national and international competitions, including Primo Premio Assoluto (100/100) at the XIV Amigdala International Music Competition (Italy, 2025), First Prize at the International Performance Competition in Sighetu Marmației (2024), and several First and Second Prizes at competitions such as the “Frederic Chopin” (Romania) and “Dinu Lipatti” (Romania) competitions. My artistic development has been enriched through participation in masterclasses with distinguished musicians, including Horia Maxim, Mihály Duffek, Róża Kostrzewska Yoder, Nariaku Sugiura and Maurizio Moretti, as well as through international programs such as the MoltoPiano Summer School in St Andrews. In addition to performing, I am actively involved in artistic and cultural projects, contributing articles to the “Uvertura” magazine and participating in interdisciplinary activities. Through my work, I strive to communicate sincerity, depth, and emotion, and to continuously grow as a musician and artist.
