Panagiotis Chatzipanagi

Cyprus

Panagiotis Chatzipanagi was born on October 14, 2013, in Nicosia. He attended the Engomi B' Primary School and, since September 2025, has been attending the Pancyprian Gymnasium, where he secured 1st place for the Nicosia Music Gymnasium following auditions. At the age of 18 months, he began early childhood music education, and at 5 years old, he started violin lessons with professor Dimitris Spanos. In 2021, he was accepted by audition into the Academy of the Symphony Orchestra, where he has since continued his violin lessons with professor Iraklis Mitellas. At the same time, he joined the SymphoPedia program, participating in concerts and performances such as "The Nutcracker" (a collaboration between the Cyprus Youth Symphony Orchestra and the Cyprus Youth Ballet). At the age of 10, he joined the Youth Symphony Orchestra, where he serves in the first violins. He participated in the Orchestra's "Alexia..." concerts in 2024 & 2025, the Christmas Gala Concert in December 2024, the anniversary concert "50 Years of the 55-59 Struggle" in March 2025, a concert in collaboration with the Pharos Arts Foundation in June 2025, the Christmas performance of "Cinderella" in December 2025 and many others in 2026. He also participates in the Art Music Ensemble and the String Ensemble of the Nicosia Music School, performing in the major concert "Axion Esti" in October 2025, as well as the Christmas concert in December 2025. In 2023, he started the piano as a second instrument, in which he also excels. Panagiotis has participated in various external music exams and competitions, achieving distinction. At the age of 11, he passed his ABRSM Grade 5 Violin Performance exam with distinction, earning an excellent score of 146/150, and his Grade 4 Piano Performance exam, also with distinction. In 2024, he won 1st prize in the competition organized by the ecological organization Green Shield for composing the song "There is Hope," which he performed and presented with his sister. In 2025, he won 2nd prize in violin performance at the Pancyprian competition "Young Orpheus". He also participated in the Panhellenic competition "Make It Heard" with his sister, composing and performing the song "Where Are You, Peace?". He has passed all his exams and auditions to date at the Symphony Orchestra Academy for violin and the Music School for piano with the excellent grade of "Distinction." His special interests include poetry and painting. He has secured two awards in poetry competitions: In April 2025, he received a commendation for his poem "Glioris's Yearning" in the Grigoris Afxentiou Foundation competition. In June 2025, he won 3rd prize for his poem "Cyprus..." in the Pancyprian competition themed "Cyprus Tradition..." organized by the Pancyprian Confederation of Parents and the Holy Archbishopric. His dream is to pursue studies in solo violin and to be able to collaborate with renowned symphony orchestras abroad
