Pavol Lazar
Pavol Lazar, clarinet, is 11 years old and, at his young age, already represents a remarkable talent of the new generation of Slovak wind instrumentalists. Even in early childhood, his artistic expression has been distinguished by extraordinary musicality and deep inner sensitivity. The growth of this young artist is shaped by the direct and intensive guidance of his father and teacher in one person – Pavol Lazar, Dis. art. – which allows him to naturally connect everyday life with music and to bring an innate lyricism and refined sense of phrasing into his playing. Pavol is a stylistically versatile musician. In addition to the classical repertoire, he enthusiastically devotes himself to jazz and improvisation, which at such a young age already foster his exceptional harmonic imagination and interpretative freedom. He further broadens his musical horizons by studying piano and playing the guitar. Pavol’s ability to captivate both audiences and professional juries with his musical performance has earned him significant recognition on the national scene. At the Slovak national competition Saxoklarinetiada, he won 3rd prize (2024) and 1st prize (2025). At DIS Jan Cikker competition (2025) he was awarded 1st prize. Although Pavol’s daily life is primarily devoted to music, in his free time he is an active boy who enjoys playing football and computer games. This balance helps him maintain his enthusiasm for his instrument.
