Rune Skredderbakken

A chorale fantasy for organ based on the chorale "Freu dich sehr" in F major. The style represent my astute knowledge towards stile antico which becomes clear at the end of the piece (Lamentoso). However, the piece celebrates aesthetic values of 19th century Art where also romantic practices towards harmonic progression and construction is used, as in the tendency to build long-reaching harmonic progression in thirds. The piece and my style is inspired by many philosophical principles contemporary to todays society, but also from e.g. Kant and Adorno. It's important to note that this piece is not composed in regard to any external benefits or use; the writing process have been completely free and my ambition for the piece have only been for the composition itself. That said, I am delighted to share this piece to hopefully get it performed and are excited to get feedback on this work that has been created solely as "art for art's sake".
