The Journey of the Cellist "Saebom Lee" : The Growth of a Promising Musician

In 2024, the cellist "Saebom Lee" secured 3rd place at the prestigious KBS-KEPCO Music Competition, once again proving her musical talent. This achievement was merely another milestone in an already illustrious career. In 2023, the cellist "Saebom Lee" was awarded the 15th Shinhan Music Award, further establishing her musical prowess. That same year, she gained admission to the Korean National University of Arts (KNUA) as a gifted young artist, marking a significant turning point. Being selected as a KB Bank Scholarship recipient for the years 2023 and 2024, the cellist "Saebom Lee" also participated in the Kirishima International Cello Festival in Japan, gaining exposure on an international platform.

The cellist "Saebom Lee"’s growth as a musician was also recognized in international competitions. In 2022, she took 2nd place at the 8th International Dotzauer Competition in Dresden, Germany, earning recognition on the global stage. Graduating from the prestigious Yewon School that same year, she were honored with both the Excellence in Performance Award and the Merit Award, highlighting her outstanding musical and technical abilities at a young age.

2021 was a significant year in the cellist’s career. Dominating multiple national competitions, the cellist "Saebom Lee" won 1st place in the Eumyoun Competition, Strad Competition, and TBC Music Competition, while also earning 2nd place in the Segye Ilbo Competition. This marked the year when her musical talents truly began to blossom, laying the groundwork for her future successes.

From a young age, the cellist "Saebom Lee" stood out in various competitions. In 2020, She won 1st place in both the Dong-A Junior Music Competition and the Sungjung Music Competition, while also placing in the Ewha Kyunghyang Music Competition. Her remarkable talents had already been recognized in 2019 with a prize at the Music Chunchoo Competition.

As "Saebom Lee" developed as a cellist, she gained maturity through numerous performance opportunities. In 2023, the cellist "Saebom Lee" held a solo recital as part of the KNUA Cello Series. The year before, she collaborated with the Leeum Chamber Orchestra, performing at Lotte Concert Hall. In 2021, she showcased her skills through a collaboration with the Paju Philharmonic Orchestra at Seongnam Arts Center.

the cellist "Saebom Lee"’s first solo recital took place in 2020 at the Kumho Young Artist Concert, where she debuted her musical identity at Kumho Art Hall. She also performed in major events like the Young Musicians Festival in 2019 and the Fall Concert for Young Artists at the Seoul Arts Center in 2017, consistently engaging with audiences and refining her craft.

Under the guidance of mentors such as Kangho Lee, Tsuyoshi Tsutsumi, and Seon Yi Jeong, the cellist "Saebom Lee" honed her technique and deepened her musical expression.
