Shinya Murakami
Shinya Murakami was born in Kanagawa, Japan. He is a solo pianist and chamber musician, and has appeared as soloist with the Kanagawa Philharmonic Orchestra and the Tokyo International Arts Society Orchestra, and has given piano recitals in various cities.
He has won numerous awards, including first prize at the Elena Richter International Piano Competition, second prize at the Japan Performers Competition, first prize at the Japan Bach Competition, third prize at the Japan Classical Music Competition, and first prize at the Kanagawa Music Competition. His performance of a piano concerto with the Kanagawa Philharmonic Orchestra was well received by the Kanagawa Newspaper, and he gave a public recorded concert at NHK Yokohama. He has participated in various master classes in Germany, France, and other countries where he has received high acclaim.
He has studied with Prof. Atsuko Okada and Prof. Akira Eguchi. He holds B.A. and M.A. degrees from Tokyo University of the Arts and is currently studying with Prof. Tünde Kurucz at the Mozarteum University Salzburg Postgraduate Course.
