Tarek El Husseiny

Tarek El Husseiny is a passionate cellist coming from a musical family originating from Lebanon, currently residing in Qatar. His love for music began at the age of 6 with the piano under the guidance of his mother. At the age of 7, Tarek began his cello studies under the instruction of Christoph Schmitz. Tarek is now the principal cellist of the Qatar Youth Orchestra since 2019 and is currently a member of the QMA Ad Libitum String Quartet lead by Mr. Stefan Robu. He has also had the honor of performing as a soloist with the Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra in 2023 and 2024, and in prestigious venues such as the Reina Sofía Sony Auditorium in Madrid, Kempinski Hotel Doha, Dreesha festival, and Katara Amphitheatre. His concert experience includes participating in the Katara Jazz Festival, collaborating with the Orchestre National de Jazz de France, and performing with the Palestinian Youth Orchestra Annual concert in Jerash - Amman 2024 under the conductor Lamar Elias. Tarek’s dedication to refining his craft has led him to attend various masterclasses, working with distinguished musicians like the Austrian Cellist Philipp Comploi, professor Miguel Colom, professor Michal Dmochowski, the cellist Hayk Sukiasyan, and the German soloist Daniel Muller Schott. Tarek has received numerous accolades, including the Gold Prize in Chamber Music at the Beethovinci International Music Competition 2024 and 3 scholarships from the Qatar Music Academy and a scholarship to the Reina Sofia Music school Summer Camp in Spain. He is also a recipient of the advanced Music Programme Scholarship from Amadeus International School Vienna. Tarek is committed to further developing his musical skills, sharing his love for music, and continuing to inspire others with his performances.
