Xiaoxuan Gao

Xiaoxuan Gao is a composer hailing from Guangzhou, located in the southern region of China. Growing up in a musically inclined family, with her mother and grandmother both trained in vocal performance, Xiaoxuan's passion for music ignited at the age of five when she began learning the piano in 2007.

Her journey in music continued as she joined the Guangzhou Opera House Children's Choir in 2013, where she showcased her talent and clinched the first prize at the 2016 World Choir Games in Sochi after three years of dedicated practice. Subsequently, from 2017 to 2023, Xiaoxuan honed her skills at the music school affiliated with the Xinghai Conservatory, specializing in composition.

Presently, Xiaoxuan embarks on a new chapter as a first-year undergraduate composition student at the prestigious Royal College of Music in London. Her dedication and talent have garnered recognition, notably winning the Grand Prize at the Classic Pure Vienna Composition Competition in October 2023 with her solo piano piece "18 minus 4-Forward."

Recently, Xiaoxuan's brilliance shone once again as a chorus piece she composed was performed at the Guangzhou Opera House, marking the beginning of an anniversary concert.
