Yan Zheng
Yan Zheng, DMA of Piano Performance, with extensive experience in performance, teaching, and artistic coaching. Graduated from the Primary and Secondary Schools affiliated with the Shanghai Conservatory of Music, and later earned a Bachelor’s degree with Academic Honors from the New England Conservatory as an Outstanding Graduate under the guidance of Hung-kuan Chen. In 2014, admitted to the Master’s program at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music with a First Prize Entrance Scholarship. As a full scholarship candidate, Yan Zheng started to pursue a Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) in Piano Performance at Michigan State University under the guidance of chair of the keyboard area Deborah Moriarty in 2018, and also served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant in piano. Yan Zheng’s performance career has taken her to major venues in Shanghai, across the United States, and in Italy, including the Shanghai Concert Hall, He Luting Concert Hall, Jordan Hall, Cook Recital Hall in the U.S., churches in Lansing, and the Bishop’s Palace in Todi, Italy. She has participated in masterclasses with internationally renowned pianists such as Fou Ts’ong, Arie Vardi, and Sergei Babayan, receiving high praise.
