Yerang Kim

USA

Yerang Kim has played piano since age 5 and violin since age 8, finding in music a lifelong form of self-expression. After moving to the US in fifth grade, she began competing at her teacher’s encouragement, earning her first gold medal at the 2019 Seattle International Piano Bach Festival. Yerang is a two-time American Protege International Competition winner, earning first prizes in both piano and violin and performing twice at Carnegie Hall. Her accolades also include gold medals at the 2022 Bach Festival, 2023 Virtuoso Festival, and the International French Music Competition, as well as multiple first prizes in the Charleston International Competition. A consistent awardee at national and international levels, Yerang is a three-time WMEA All-State Orchestra first violinist and a concertmaster at her school. She finds joy and meaning in every note and phrase, using both her instruments to paint a world words cannot express.
