Yun-Chung Lin

Yun-Chung Lin is a talented and dynamic violinist whose artistry and technical prowess have quickly garnered attention in the classical music world. A recent graduate of The Juilliard School, Yun-Chung earned her Master’s degree in 2025, studying under the guidance of renowned violinist Areta Zhulla. Prior to her studies at Juilliard, she completed her Bachelor of Music at the Taipei National University of the Arts, where she was mentored by I-Ching Li.

Yun-Chung’s exceptional skills have been recognized through numerous awards and accolades. She earned first prize in the Eslite Youth Chamber Music Selection (2024) and was also the winner for two consecutive years of the Taipei National University of the Arts Chamber Music Competition (2020, 2021) and the Yilan Student Competition of Music Violin Solo (2015, 2017). She also received second prize in the 2019 Taipei Student Competition of Music Violin Solo. Her achievements as both a soloist and chamber musician underscore her versatility and commitment to excellence in her craft.

With extensive orchestral experience, Yun-Chung is currently a Fellow with the New World Symphony, where she continues to refine her artistry in collaboration with top-tier musicians and conductors. In 2024, she served as Assistant Principal Second Violin in the Juilliard Orchestra. Her previous roles include positions with the Taipei National University of the Arts Orchestra, where she served as Concertmaster, Principal Second Violin, and Assistant Principal Second Violin across several seasons. Yun-Chung has also performed with the Asian Youth Orchestra as First Violin and with the Evergreen Symphony Orchestra as a Substitute Violinist. Additionally, she interned with the Taiwan Philharmonic during the 2021–2022 season.

As an avid learner, Yun-Chung has participated in masterclasses with some of the violin world’s leading figures, including Mihaela Martin, Paul Huang, Vesselin Paraschkevov, David Chan, Cho-Liang Lin, David Kim, and Wen Qian. Her chamber music training includes coaching with members of the Telegraph Quartet, Koichiro Harada, and Nai-Yuan Hu. During her time at Juilliard, she also received coaching from Joseph Lin, Merry Peckham, Audrey Axinn, Phoebe Carrai, Soyeon Kate Lee, Darrett Adkins, and Toby Appel.

Yun-Chung’s diverse musical experiences include being accepted into the National Symphony Orchestra Fellowship Program in Taiwan in 2021, participating in the Asian Youth Orchestra in 2022, attending the Aspen Music Festival in 2024, winning the Elite Chamber Music Competition in 2025, and participating in the Taipei Music Academy & Festival (TMAF) with a full scholarship in 2025.

Beyond performance, Yun-Chung is deeply committed to using music as a force for social good. She frequently visits hospitals and rural schools to share the beauty of music with students and communities, striving to enrich lives through the power of art. Through these endeavors, she not only conveys the value of music but also demonstrates her genuine compassion and dedication to both art and society.
