Yurun Song

Yurun Song is a highly skilled and versatile musician specialising in composition and conducting, currently studying at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. He is an experienced conductor and composer with extensive training and professional affiliations. Yurun is a member of ABODA (Australian Band and Orchestra Directors Association) and regularly attends and conducts masterclasses, such as Simon Halsey’s Creation workshop.

In addition to his conducting skills, Yurun is composer as well, he is a member of the Modern Music Laboratory as well. He began studying piano at the age of three and has since received several awards worldwide. He studies composition with renowned composers such as Carl Vine, Luis Sagile, Peggy Polias, among others, and has also studied piano with Michael Roh, Choi Young Kown, and other distinguished pianists. Yurun’s academic focus includes music theory, harmony, orchestration, polyphonic studies, Russian school piano performance, as well as piano pedagogy for teenagers and adults. He has collaborated with several ensembles and orchestras, including the Sydney Conservatorium of Music Chinese Music Ensemble, the Sydney Chinese Orchestra, the Sydney Conservatorium of Music Symphony Orchestra, and the NSW Parliament House.
