Zhana Zheleva is a sixteen years old flutist from Bulgaria. She participates in various concerts and competitions. She has won first prizes in competitions like “Heirs of Orpheus”, “The sound of time”, the International Competition for vocal and Instrumental music “Mastery in Childhood” and others. She is a multiple first-prize winner at competition such as the school-wide “Music, Stroke and Dance” competition, the Tryavna Art Festival, the National Competition “The Children of Bulgaria Sing and Dance” and others. This year Zhana participated in the National Competition “Road to fame” where she won a First prize and was awarded with a scholarship by the Bulgarian Ministry of Culture. Zhana regularly performs in school concerts and in other cities across the country and abroad. Over the past four years, she was selected to perform as a soloist with the Ruse Philharmonic Orchestra. Last year she appeared as a guest soloist in two concerts with the Academic Symphony Orchestra in Sofia and Ruse. A few months ago, the young flutist took part in the “Shoulder to shoulder” project in Shumen, where she performed the Francois Devienne’s virtuosic flute concerto No. 7 for the first time, accompanied by the Shumen Symphony Orchestra. Over the years Zhana has had the opportunity to participate in masterclasses led by distinguished musicians such as Prof. George Spasov, Hristo Dobrinov, Dr. Hristo Hristov, Bulent Evcil, Maria Prinz (chamber music) and others. In 2023 she auditioned for Prof. Michael Kofler at the Mozarteum in Salzburg, Austria. As a result she participated in his masterclasses in July 2024.
