Zixin (Andy) Wang

Zixin(Andy) Wang, a Grade 7 student, was born into a musical family and began learning the piano at the age of 4. His dedication to music has earned him numerous first prizes at prestigious events, including the Ottawa Kiwanis Music Festival, the Ottawa Piano Music Festival, the Unionville Music Competition, the North York Music Festival, the CCC Toronto International Music Festival, the Toronto Kiwanis Music Festival and the American Protégé International Piano Competition. In 2022, Andy achieved a significant milestone by winning first prize at the Ontario Provincial Competition. He was also selected for the Great Bach Marathon by the Royal Canadian College of Organists, where he won a scholarship for the best Bach performance. In 2023, he furthered his musical journey by winning the prestigious 1948 J.P. Kenny Memorial Trophy at the Kiwanis Music Festival. In addition to performing, Andy has a passion for music composition. He won first place in the ORMTA (Ontario Registered Music Teachers' Association) composition competition. Beyond music, Andy enjoys golf, canoeing, and skiing.
