Ziyu Sha, born in 1999 in Xi’an, completed his bachelor’s and master’s studies at the University of the Arts Bremen, the Dresden University of Music, and the Lübeck University of Music. He studied under Professor Wenzel Fuchs (Principal Clarinetist of the Berlin Philharmonic) and Professor Matthew Hunt (Principal Clarinetist of the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen). He is currently continuing his education in the Concert Examination program under Professor Norbert Kaiser at the Stuttgart University of Music and Performing Arts. He has worked as a substitute with the Lübeck Philharmonic and the Dresden Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra and has performed with artists such as Johannes Fischer, Elias Grandy, Paulina Sachse, Konrad Elser, and Sir John Rutter. In the field of chamber music, his ensemble had the honor of being invited by H.R.H. Duchess Marie Cécile of Prussia to perform in Oldenburg. In addition to his work as a clarinetist, Ziyu Sha has been studying conducting under Catherine Larsen-Maguire since 2022.
