ZongQi Liu

Liu Zongqi, bass‑baritone, is currently studying at the Vocal‑Opera Department of the Shanghai Conservatory of Music. He was admitted with the second‑highest audition score nationwide. He studies under Professor Huang Xuan, Deputy Director of the department. Liu has received the Freshman Scholarship and obtained the “Music Talent Fund” project. His main artistic practice includes: attending the Shen Yang Vocal Masterclass in 2024; performing in the closing opera La Traviata of the Shanghai Spring International Music Festival in 2025; singing as a soloist on behalf of Shanghai Conservatory at the annual commendation conference of Shanghai National Defense Education Association; winning an Excellence Award at the 11th National Opera Vocal Performance for Higher Arts Institutions in 2025; participating in a masterclass at Bologna Conservatory in Italy in July 2025; winning First Prize (China region) at the Sino‑German Voice International Music Festival in 2025; performing in Carmina Burana in 2025; participating in the production and performance of Don Giovanni, playing the role of Masetto with professionals from Shenzhen Opera and Dance Theatre at Shenzhen Concert Hall, accompanied by the Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra; performing in the Sino‑German co‑production opera The Magic Flute in 2026; going to Germany for an opera and vocal performance masterclass and competition jointly organized by the State Opera of Lower Saxony and Erzgebirge Opera, winning first prize at the semi‑final and advancing to the finals.
